Mooragan Room

Mooragan Room – 2.5 years – 4 years

It is in the Mooragan room that we see children start to refine their independence skills. In this nurturing environment educators make each child feel safe and supported as they learn to care for themselves, become independent and develop a strong sense of their own identity and wellbeing.

In the Mooragan room, Belonging, Being and Becoming is central to the program. Supported by experienced Educators, the children learn key self-help skills along with creative thinking and problem-solving, developing social and emotional skills, as well as early literacy and language skills.

With such a big age range, the group is often divided for developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

It is in the Mooragan room that educators help each child learn to be in control of their own behaviour and thoughts (known as agency), with the ultimate goal of the children learning how to make and communicate decisions that influence events in their world.
